Kelly Clarkson the original “American Idol” is returning to her roots and coming home. The multi Grammy Award winning superstar is headed back to the place where she got her start, to perform her new released single.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Clarkson will sing “People Like Us” live for the first time ever on the April 11 results show. This is her first return to the show since 2011 when she performed with Jason Aldean their extremely successful single “Don’t You Wanna Stay”. As it seems the male contestants on Idol are dropping like flies it seems fitting that Clarkson will perform the night that it’ll be guaranteed a female wins Idol this year, the first since Jordin Sparks.
Clarkson has marked her place as one of the most successful idol winners ever having sold over 23 million albums and 36 million singles world wide.
