Memphis-born actress/singer Lucy Hale of Pretty Little Liars fame, previewed her much anticipated country song ‘You Sound Good To Me’ on Sirius XM today. The single from her upcoming debut album, which will be available Tuesday via iTunes, is described by Hale as “pretty straight country,” conjuring images of fine tuned guitar strings, drum beats, all tied finely together with a catchy chorus.
In returning to her country roots, Hale went on to describe the premier on Sirius XM as being one of the “coolest moments” of her life. The video for “You Sound Good To Me” is set to play during the winter premier of the hit ABC Family show Pretty Little Liars, this Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST. Fellow country star Taylor Swift, John Mayer, and Band of Horses will also make appearances during the video.
Hale has been hard at work on the debut album since signing with Hollywood Records in 2012. Hale was able to showcase her singing talent in 2003, at the “American Juniors” talent competition. Not long after signing the record deal, Hale sat down with MTV News, describing the inspiration behind her sound as “a Taylor Swift/Carrie Underwood-ish hybrid.”
“I’m going to do a country/pop album, and I couldn’t be more excited,” the actress told MTV News. “I grew up in Tennessee, so that’s always been my heart and soul. It’s hard to come across a true country fan in L.A., but it’s true that the fans are so loyal, once you’re in their circle, you’re in for your entire career. It just really speaks to me. Country music has so much soul and is so heartfelt. I think it’s a perfect fit for me. I think it will surprise people.”
