The Trailer For ABC/Marvel’s Inhumans Is Released

Premiering in theaters and on TV in September, Marvel and ABC’s new show ‘Inhumans’ released its first trailer today.

Though most of the trailers for fall TV shows came out in May at the upfronts, some were held back. Marvel and ABC’s newest show, Inhumans, was one of them. Until today, that is.

Fans of Marvel’s first TV show Agents Of SHIELD, should be a little familiar with the out-of-this-world race known as the Inhumans, but this new show promised to go much farther and in a bit of a different direction. Though I can’t speak for all fans, I must say I was a little apprehensive of this new show. But I was excited to see the trailer, and now you can too.

The Inhumans Trailer

Well, that’s very different from Agents Of SHIELD, isn’t it? Honestly, I’m a little confused by this trailer. Are these the same Inhumans from AoS? Why do they all look like pretty average humans (though the hairstyles on the two girls is a little weird) when Raina had spikes all over her body? Should fans of AoS just forget all that? Does this trailer make more sense to someone who read the Inhumans comics?

But, I will say that this new direction could prove interesting. There are several shows about the drama and politics within a royal family, but none of them involve superpowers like this. Getting to understand this new race and their abilities could be fun, and perhaps throughout the show’s eight episodes, we will get a better understand of how or if these guys will tie into the large MCU.

This show is filmed with IMAX cameras so I’m expecting some really cool cinematography. The set design and architecture in the trailer is neat, though.

Overall, I can’t say this trailer has be super excited for Inhumans, but I’ll likely still give it a shot. Only comic fans were familiar with the Guardians of the Galaxy before its movie, so maybe this will be an unexpected hit too. Perhaps having a bit of knowledge from Agents Of SHIELD will make Inhumans more enjoyable, or perhaps things will be so different that it’s refreshing.

And if not, at least there’s Lockjaw. That big dog is apparently a fan-favourite. I know nothing about him, but just from that trailer, I love him already.

The first episode of Inhumans will be playing in IMAX theaters starting September 1st, but the show itself premiers on September 29th at 9pm on ABC. Will you be watching?
