Oh, no! The Vampire Diaries finale is fast approaching, with only 4 episodes left before we bid goodbye to our favorite vampire show theories and speculations are flying off the shelves like hot pancakes. We’re currently going through another 2-week hiatus, but if you’re suffering from withdrawals, don’t worry! We have some finale scoop that’ll hold you over – or make you wish you could fast-forward to episode 23.
There are a few teases we can tell you about that come courtesy of TVGuide. Executive producer, Julie Plec, recently spilled the beans about what we can expect from Season 4’s – most likely heart-stopping – conclusion. Graduation will be the big event taking place that day, and some of the characters are coming to the realization that there really is no one out there to come cheer them on as they receive their diploma. Elena’s family is all dead – or is it?, Matt’s mom has been MIA since Season 1 – technically making him an orphan – and Stefan has been parentless for well over a century. However, it’s Mystic Falls, so their biggest problem will be of the non-human kind, as “graduation falls right in the middle of a crucial supernatural time.” With Silas still roaming around, one can only assume it has something to do with him and the cure. ”Definitely not all of our wayward, delinquent students will be present when it comes time to collect their diplomas,” Plec teases.
But what will be one of the shocking finale moments this season? The coveted cure will finally be gulped down by one of the vampires! It’s a nice parallel to last season, where the final moments were about Elena turning into a bloodsucker. In regards to Season 5, Plec confirmed that some of the Mystic Falls residents will be attending college, while others might be hitting the road to New Orleans or catching a plane to Europe. With Claire Holt already confirmed for The Originals, it’s very likely she’s the one Plec was talking about in regards to French Quarter. But, let’s not forget Caroline’s never been anywhere outside of Mystic Falls, maybe she can go to Europe and visit all the places Klaus mentioned in the past. So many question, so little answers! Everything will be revealed when The Vampire Diaries concludes its Season 4 run on May 16. Until then, let’s play the guessing game!
So what do you think, readers? Who will be the one taking the cure at the end of the season? Tell us all your hopes and dreams!
