This week’s episode of Vampires Diaries entitled American Gothic will have Elena continuing to deny her humanity and the return of a character!
Spoilers ahead!
Elena is taking a walk on the dark and wild side! And no it is not her evil doppelganger Katherine at work! With her emotions off Elena is playing with fire between pushing friends away and flirting with Stefan. Does that mean there are cracks in her and Damon’s sire bond? According to TVLine things are not looking so rosy for the pair.
Elena is willing to do whatever she can to find the cure. If that means toying with another hunk so be it. Also while on the quest for a cure with Rebekah the duo will bump into Katherine and Elijah who is making his return to the series. His main goal is keeping his family together but will he be a bigger part of finding the cure?
Actor Daniel Gilles had this to say concerning his character’s return, ”Elijah’s gonna shock and possibly even horrify a few. In fact, I’ll say he’s gonna horrify many. But frankly, I don’t care. I think what he’s doing is wonderful.”
Remember what I said about Elena getting busy to get a cure? Elijah is on the list of suspected suitors. Flashbacks allude to him falling in love with Katherine when she was human, could Elijah be taking a page from the Salvatore brothers’ book? Also in the running is Vaughn, the vampire hunt, but we can’t be 100% sure that he is alive, but his previous alliance with Katherine and knowledge of the cure would make him a prime target. But we can’t rule out Elena’s current companion Rebekah. The original vamp would be the obvious point, but is Elena ready to do whatever it takes to get her hands on the cure?
Bonus this week: Klaus will be shirtless! Yum!
News on the Prequel!
Claire Holt has (finally) signed on to join the prequel to Vampire Diaries, spinoff The Originals. Holt will be joining Daniel Gillies, Joseph Morgan, and Phoebe Tonkin who have already signed on for the series.
