Variety.Com reports that there will be another Mission Impossible. The last film of the installment, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, grossed more than $700 million at the worldwide box office.
This will mark the fifth film of the Mission: Impossible franchise. The production of the film has been made official, as Deadline Hollywood broke the news that Tom Cruise has signed on to both star and produce.
Cruise will produce with J.J. Abrams, who produced the last two films of the installment.
A writer, director, or start date has yet to be set by Paramount and Skydance. However, Deadline Hollywood reports that Christopher McQuarrie, who also directed Cruise in Jack Reacher, might direct the film.
Cruise most recently starred alongside Morgan Freeman in Oblivion.
