Tiffini Hale, legendary Mickey Mouse Club Mouseketeer, singer, actor, and dancer has died at the age of 46. Hale suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this month, which left her in a coma. Fellow Mouseketeers Deedee Magno Hall and Chasen Hampton confirmed her death this morning.
Hale passed away peacefully on Christmas morning, surrounded by close family. Hale was born on July 30, 1975 in Palm Springs, California. She was raised in Miami, Florida, and on the island of Barbados, before moving to Orlando, Florida to pursue a professional career with Disney.
Fellow Mouseketeers, colleagues, and fans have poured their hearts out at the news, flooding social media, and comment sections with loving tributes to the late Disney star.
Hale Joins Disney’s The All-New Mickey Mouse Club
Tiffini Talia Hale exploded into the limelight, as one of the Mouseketeers on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club, which made its debut in April of 1989 on The Disney Channel. In 1988, Hale was chosen from over 10,000 auditions for a highly coveted role on the show.
She described the audition as “nerve-wracking” due to the requirement of singing, dancing, and acting at all once — but ultimately, she enjoyed it, comparing it to “one big adventure.”
At that time, The Disney Channel was a satellite-only station, highly premium, and sought after by every kid in America. Hale and her fellow Mouseketeers taped hundreds of episodes of the show, which quickly catapulted The Disney Channel into millions of homes, all over North America. The All-New Mickey Mouse Club launched The Disney Channel into one of cable’s most profitable satellite stations, ever, at the time. On top of being some of the most popular kids on television, the Mouseketeers were also star attractions at the Disney MGM Studios theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort, where the show was taped.

The Party
IIn 1990, Hale joined fellow Mouseketeers Chasen Hampton, DeeDee Magno, Albert “Jeune” Fields, and Damon Pampolina, to form the musical act, The Party. The group carved out a historical path for many, becoming the sole reason for the creation of Hollywood Records, as well as becoming their first offering, paving the way for Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, and many other mega acts. As part of the promotion for the band, a name-the-band contest was held. The winning result was “The Party,” which is a backronym for “Positive Attitude Reflects Today’s Youth.”

The Party collaborated with some of the world’s biggest producers and songwriters for their albums, including Dr. Dre, Diane Warren, Don Dokken, Chris Lord-Alge, Jellybean, Stephen Bray, and more. Legendary radio host Casey Kasem likened their concert hysteria to Beatle-Mania, after several of their shows were stopped within the first 90-seconds due to mass hysteria over the group.
The Party Is Everywhere
By 1991, The Party was a household name. You could find them absolutely everywhere, including your pantry? That’s right, your pantry. Kellogg’s deemed The Party as one of the “Future’s Of Rock,” shipping over 3-million boxes of Pop-Tarts, with their likeness on it. Fans of The Party bought the product in droves, enabling them to send away for a limited-edition cassette tape, featuring two of The Party’s smash hit singles, That’s Why, and Peace, Love, and Understanding.

The Party embarked on a grueling, multi-year schedule, continuing to tape new episodes of The All-New Mickey Mouse Club for several more seasons, as well as embarking on massive tours with Taylor Dayne, Color Me Badd, Vanilla Ice, and many of the world’s biggest acts at the time. The band made appearances on hit television shows like Blossom, and The Party Machine With Nia Peeples. The band even had a soundtrack credit for the series, Doogie Howser, M.D., in 1991.
The Party released five albums with Hollywood Records, selling shedloads of copies in the process, and delivering several hit singles, including their smash In My Dreams. In 1993, The Party released their penultimate album The Party’s Over… Thanks For Coming, followed by a Greatest Hits record in 1997. Decades later, these releases are so highly sought after, many of them fetch hundreds, or even thousands of dollars on online marketplaces, such as eBay, and Discogs.

MMC
In 1993, both Hale and Hampton reprised their role for what would become the final season of The All-New Mickey Mouse Club, dubbed MMC. Season-7 of the hit show, saw the return of a much more grown-up Hale and Hampton, sporting shorter haircuts, and a more subdued style, but Hale’s light never dimmed, and her fashion clearly influenced that of many of her co-stars, including Ryan Gosling, who has repeatedly cited her as one of his first crushes.
Mickey Mouse Club Cancellation
The cancellation of MMC was a shock to many, including many of the cast, as it was at the height of its popularity of the time. Producers of the show felt like they could not continually replicate the success of the initial cast and talent of the show, including Hale. A Disney Executive quoted at the time said that Casting Director Matt Casella had “run the United States and Canada, completely dry,” in terms of the most talented kids. Hale was one of over 85,000 kids that Casella personally auditioned for the show.

Tiffini Hale Retreats From The Limelight
After taping the final episodes of MMC in 1994, Hale permanently withdrew from the limelight. She wanted to spend time with her close family, including her mother and sister, in California. She had spent her entire childhood on camera, and like many child stars, prefer a quieter adulthood. That did not stop the world from wondering about Hale, inquiring about her, or publicly loving her, however. At any mention of The Party, there was never an absence of questions about her, and fond memories shared. Whether any of us would admit it or not, we all selfishly longed for her to return to the spotlight, bringing her unique style, energy, and class with her. We couldn’t help it. We grew up with Tiffini Hale, and her impact on all who knew her was undeniable.

The Party Reunites
When The Party reunited after more than two-decades in 2013, Hale and her family privately cheered them on, encouraging them to continue the historic musical legacy they began in their teens.
Fellow The Party band member Albert Fields told Ok! Magazine in 2013, “The truth is, she’s not a part of this” reunion.
“We have to respect her, her feelings and her family’s feelings. That’s what it is. Period. …and hopefully people can understand that and accept it, because they have no choice but to. That’s what it is.”
…but Hale was never truly out of the equation, or far from any of her bandmate’s minds, with tributes and frequent mentions in everything they did from that initial reunion in 2013, on.
The Party: 30th Anniversary Reunion
Just a few months ago, The Party held a sold-out reunion show to celebrate their 30th anniversary, with a very special tribute to Hale, which brought nearly the entire audience, and all her bandmates to tears. The show was more than just a historic reunion. It was a benefit that raised tens-of-thousands of dollars for charities like the Always In The Club Foundation, and Give Kids The World. The Party, like they had done so many times before, put philanthropy and charity before even their own needs.
The Party has released an official statement on the passing of their sister:
“It is with the heaviest of broken hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of our beloved sister, Tiffini Talia Hale.
Early this month, she suffered a cardiac arrest that resulted in her being left in a coma. After many prayers and with her family by her side, our dearest Tiff took her last breath Christmas morning. She is now resting peacefully.
Tiffini’s family has kindly asked that their privacy be respected as they take this time to grieve.
Tiffini’s mother Nancy and sister Tanya send their love to all, as well as many thanks for such kind support through the years.
On behalf of Tiffini’s family, and her Party and MMC brothers and sisters, we want to thank all of you for the love and well wishes you have expressed for our dear Tiffini.
Her beauty, talent, style and fun loving spirit will forever live in our hearts and memories.
Forever Yours,
Deedee, Chasen, Jeune, Damon and the entire Mickey Mouse Club family.”

Rest in eternal peace to Tiffini Hale, a woman who single-handedly helped to define the style, sound, and attitude of an entire generation. You will be sorely missed.
