Nowadays, when you hear someone say “catfish”, you don’t really think about the actual fish do you? If you’re like me, you think of someone creating a false identity online – and the film and MTV show that brought the issue to light.

MTV has recently released a trailer for the second season of its show Catfish and it looks more intense than the first.

If you aren’t familiar with Catfish: The TV Show, it centers on online users trying to meet other people they’ve met online and formed relationships with. Nev Schulman and Max Joseph are the ones who ultimately help the people with their meeting – Shulman was a victim of a catfish himself. In the first season, there were a lot of lies and betrayal, but also some friendships and relationships that continued on.

The trailer shows Nev and Max helping someone meet her fiancée, a young woman who met the “love of her life” 8 years ago, and a young man who gave his bank information and thousands of dollars to a woman he met online. From the looks of it, they all fell pretty hard for their online friends. And more tears and betrayal are definitely going to take place. Just see for yourself in the trailer!

Catch the return of Catfish on MTV on June 25th!
