With Les Miserables being hailed as one of the top movies of the year, and the buzz surrounding the cast, it seems the love of the musical is back with a vengeance. So last night at the SAG Awards Tina Fey was asked about the matter of musicals she reignited the excitement with the news that a Mean Girls musical was in the works.
Fey appears to be in talks with Paramount about the project which she has been developing with her husband, who happens to do all the music for 30 Rock. Tina was even asked by E!Online about her thoughts on the Mariah Carey/Nicki Minaj Mean Girls reference on American Idol last week to which Fey responded, “Maybe she can play Amy Poehler‘s part in the musical.”
Entertainment Weekly has taken it a step further doing their “dream cast” for a Mean Girls Musical that includes some of the hottest young actors who can sing:
