TLC Tolerates Hate?

What makes TLC great is the diversity of its shows and subjects.

From the entertaining (Sex Sent Me to the ER) to the inspiring (The Little Couple), the network provides any audience with a variety of worthy, binge-watching programs. But TLC meets just as much criticism as it does enthusiasm. The scandals of Josh Duggar (an influential member of the infamous 19 Kids and Counting) rocked its foundation. Even though the Duggars appear on their own spin-off show Counting On, the former got the boot. While he no longer lavishes airtime, his family still lives in the limelight. They make their presence known, especially Jill’s beau Derick Dillard.

As of late, the man constantly updates his Twitter followers on his thoughts. From generic Bible verses to careening viewpoints, the man-bun maniac acts erratically. However, his bizarre antics rarely captured interest…until he spoke poorly of a child also featured on TLC. Jazz Jennings, star of the hit show I Am Jazz, received the brunt of his attack. “What an oxymoron… a ‘reality’ show which follows a non-reality. ‘Transgender’ is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it’s ordained by God,” he tweets. His beliefs made everyone bash him, and even TLC released its own statement. The network definitely wants no part of Dillard’s opinion. A person with supposed ties to the patriarchy speaks out about his damning tweets. “They’re probably not too long for TLC. My feeling is that they’ll probably get axed soon because of this Jazz situation. He opened up a can of worms that he never, ever, ever should’ve cracked a lid on,” s/he says.

Since welcoming his second son, the father and husband seems completely unhinged. Instead of focusing on his newborn and career prospects, the guy bashed the LGBT community, as well as a child. He really needs serious help.
