Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to write a story for Mission Impossible 5. Appearing last night (April 5) on the British late night chat show, “The Graham Norton Show”, Tom Cruise announced that a fifth “Mission Impossible” was confirmed. While he was suitably cagey on details about the sequel, he stated “I am working on the story”.
This is not the first time that Cruise has spoken about his desire for another outing as Ethan Hunt. Last October he spoke to Total Film after being named Icon of Our Lifetime, saying “I started ‘Mission: Impossible’ hoping I could make many of them. It’s a character that I can grow with… It’s been pretty exciting. Seeing an audience respond… to have that experience is really wonderful. I’ll make a bunch of those. I’ll make as many as people want to see… because they’re very challenging, and so much fun to make.”
