If you’re like me, you’re chomping at the bit waiting for Thor: The Dark World to hit theaters. Not only do we get to see the gorgeous Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston reprise their roles from last summer’s smash hit The Avengers, but we’ve got a new villain to look forward to!
Malekith the Accursed is his name, and he’s played by none other than Doctor Who alum Christopher Eccleston. In Marvel comic lore Malekith allies himself with Loki (Tom Hiddleston), but it has yet to be determined how the two will interact in the upcoming film. All we know for sure is that Tom Hiddleston himself is thrilled to work alongside Christopher Eccleston. Red Carpet News TV caught up with Hiddleston at the South Bank Sky Arts Awards recently, and he had this to say about the actor:
“Christopher Eccleston is one of Britain’s greatest actors…He brings a degree of commitment, intelligence, conviction and complexity to everything he does. I think he really got his teeth into this thing. Christopher has enormous presence, which is very distinguishable on stage as well as film.”
With regards to his own character, Hiddleston teased “Loki is constantly dancing on that tightrope between yielding entirely to his darker instinct and redemption…The hope that one day he can be brought back and be recruited to the side of good.”
Thor: The Dark World is set to be released worldwide on November 6, 2013.
Are you excited to see everyone’s favorite Marvel villain Loki light up the big screen once again?
