“Prepare for the greatest battle you’ll ever ride! The new TRANSFORMERS: The Ride–3D is an ultra-immersive, next generation thrill ride that blurs the line between fiction and reality!”
When TRANSFORMERS: The Ride-3D officially opens at Universal Studios Orlando tomorrow, June 20th! (PSSSST! It will happen between 9:30am-11am!) don’t expect a quiet event! I spoke to several sources inside the park and found out exactly what to expect for the thousands of lucky park goers expected to be in attendance! Several big names will be in attendance, including Director, Steven Spielberg, Glenn Morshower, (General Morshower) Peter Cullen, (Voice of Optimus Prime) and Frank Welker. (Voice of Megatron)
The opening will be interrupted by a full-fledged Decepticon attack, led by Megatron. With help from a squadron of N.E.S.T. Soldiers, Bumblebee and the Autobots, the Mass Recruitment Facility will be successfully opened and park-goers will be allowed inside! The battle will be complete with full-scale vehicles, (YES, the ones from the movie, on loan from Paramount Pictures) pyrotechnics, jets flying overhead and much more! As a N.E.S.T. recruit, you’ll find yourself on the front lines of an intergalactic war between the Autobots and Decepticons. You’ll fight alongside Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, trying to keep the Allspark from falling into enemy hands! Keep in mind that riders MUST be at least 40 inches tall to ride.
In addition, guests at Universal Studios Florida can meet Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Megatron in impressive meet-and-greets just outside the ride each day. On May 2, 2013, the park announced that the ride would open on June 20, 2013. On May 30, 2013, technical rehearsals for the ride officially began, with team member previews happening the day prior. Located on Soundstage 44, which was once home to Hercules and Xena: Wizards of the Screen and Murder, She Wrote Mystery Theatre, TRANSFORMERS: The Ride 3D is sure to be a smash with park-goers.
