Given the crazy times we’ve been living through this year and may yet find ourselves doing so for the foreseeable future, in recent months the importance of family and connections with those we love has been at the forefront of many people’s minds largely due to social distancing and restrictions keeping both family and friends apart, and this hasn’t gone unnoticed by TWRP.
The new single from the band; a synth rock quartet with more than a decade of experience in the industry and a cult following behind them, titled “Only The Best” and the first release from upcoming album Over The Top which is out on September 25th, is a thank you to those people none of us would be here without – our mums. The track pays tribute to the women of the world who have given life to us all, and expresses deep gratitude for the patience, love and support they offer their children, no matter how young or old they may be. It also reminds those who hear it that such love and patience is what helps make the world a positive and happy place, and that society as a whole would greatly benefit from us all listening to our mothers, and following in their footsteps – at least in terms of their showing others kindness – a little more.
The band say of their latest release: “On its surface, “Only The Best” is TWRP’s upbeat thank you letter to their own mothers, but it’s also a celebration of all the mothers across the planet. Featuring sparkly synthesizers, blazing guitar solos, and some very lighthearted talkbox vocals, TWRP fits their familiar optimism into a punchy little new-wave song, reminding us all that we should probably call home more often.”
