Under Armour Hack Is One Of The Largest In History
Under Armour has reported a data breach that affected 150 million users of the MyFitnessPal diet and fitness app. The hack, which happened in February, is one of the largest in history.
Account user names, email addresses, and passwords for the MyFitnessPal mobile app and website were reportedly hacked.
While no financial information was breached, it’s important to note that stolen email addresses can still be valuable to online criminals.
Under Armour is currently working with data security firms and law enforcement to investigate the cyberattack, but have no explanation for how the hackers got into the network. Members of MyFitnessPal are encouraged to change their passwords immediately.
In a statement, the Under Armour said, “We continue to monitor for suspicious activity and to coordinate with law enforcement authorities.”
The company added that it will be strengthening its security systems to better detect and ultimately prevent a future attack.
