It’s a sad day for Psych fans. The long running USA Network show will end after the current eighth season, the network announced today.
The comedy-drama series starring James Roday will air it’s series finale Wednesday, March 26 at 9 p.m on USA Network. Chris McCumber, President of USA Network, released a statement, “The final season celebrates the iconic characters that have made this show so beloved, and will be an exclamation point on the series’ incredible run. And while the series will wrap in March somehow I don’t believe we’ve heard the last of Shawn and Gus.” Steve Franks, the creator of Psych, took to twitter to express his feelings of the shows cancellation writing;
“It has been an amazing joyride these last eight years, Thanks to everyone who tagged along for the journey.”
After the fans quickly responded with love for the show, Franks tweeted with a glimmer of hope for the future,
“All the outpouring has been overwhelming. You guys are the best. I’d better start writing the movie now.”
Franks and the entire cast will participate in a live one hour after show titled, Psych After Show following the finale.
