The CW has confirmed that Jeremy Gilbert, played by Steven R McQueen, is set to return to the Vampire Diaries!
Fans will remember that Elena’s younger brother lost his life at the hands of Katherine Pierce and the much-feared Silas back in February in the quest for the cure, and the Gilbert house was later burnt to the ground with Jeremy’s body inside. So how will Jeremy return to the CW series?
As a supernatural show, the Vampire Diaries has the capacity to see characters return from the dead in many ways. Immediate speculations suggest this may be the work of Silas, who has already taken on the forms of Caroline and Shane. Another possibility is that dangerously powerful Bonnie may successively drop the veil between this world and the next, and see every dead supernatural being return – in any case, a source has told TVLine that a few more familiar faces may “drop in” before the end of Season 4 on May 16.
