Vanessa Silberman Presents New Single “My Love”

“My Love is a song inspired by love and all the power it has to transform and change us as humans.”

Vanessa Silberman truly loves music. She’s engineered for the likes of Kimbra and Tony Visconti, assisted for The Kills and Foo Fighters and worked as the in-house engineer at Studio 606. In terms of her own music, already released several singles, two EP’s and is considered one of the hardest working artists around by those in the DIY touring community and played more than 800 shows across the US and in Europe in the span of 5 years from 2015 to 2020.

As the Corona Virus pandemic hit hard last year, she refused to let the virus slow her and her love of music down and instead she released seven self-produced singles and kept engaged with her loyal fans through weekly livestreams which saw her perform and talk about several music related topics and issues. While the pandemic continues to hamper efforts to get the music industry – and the world – back on its feet, Vanessa is powering on and PopWrapped are delighted to premiere her new, alt-pop single “My Love.”

Asked about the inspiration to and behind the track, Vanessa says: “My Love is a song inspired by love and all the power it has to transform and change us as humans. There’s something to be said about having the ability to love ourselves as well as the capacity to love someone else. I feel like love is truly the most powerful force on earth. When I wrote the lyrics for the song, they kind of just poured out of me — I felt so energized by love at the very moment. I wanted to express that feeling and how magical being in love is. I felt so grateful, thinking how lucky I am because the person who I love is out of this world incredible. In retrospect, I also think there’s a perspective of me expressing my love and caring so deeply for other people.

She goes on to add that: “My Love is also the beginning of a new chapter as my sound has evolved and is very different from my prior releases. I was slightly nervous about what the reaction was going to be when I played a demo of My Love for my drummer/creative music partner Ryan Carnes because the style was so different. It wasn’t even the song we had intended to work on, but when I played it for him, he was so enthusiastic and excited by the new sound. We had so much enjoyment finishing and collaborating on it that it was true reminder to me of how making music should always be. Writing music that brings pure joy with a great message for people.”

Taking care of her wellbeing also played a huge part in her desire to write and share this song, as she explains: “During the last year I also started meditating. After completing this song, I did a Chopra mediation, and in that meditation it came to me that I really needed to put out music with the message of love in it because so many people need love right now.”
