Warner Bros. has hinted that it knows what direction they want Batman to take in the Man of Steel sequel, according to Metro.
The studio is reportedly looking for someone in their ‘mid-40’s’ to become the Caped Crusader, adding that the latest incarnation will be a ‘grizzled veteran who has been on the job for several years.’
With Christian Bale not reprising his role, actors like Jon Hamm, Gerard Butler and Josh Brolin are reportedly in the frame to take on the role. It is believed that Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Clark Kent/Superman in the sequel.
Other reports suggest that the film’s director Zack Snyder will meet comic book legend Frank Miller, who pits Batman against Superman in the graphic novel Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.
‘Frank had no idea that announcement in San Diego was going to happen so it did come as a surprise,’ according to an interview from The Independent.
‘He’s going to be meeting up with Zack in the next few days to go over the plans for the Superman film so things should be clearer after that.’
Batman V. Superman is due for release in 2015.
