It’s been two years since the last Pitch Perfect movie came out, the second in the series, and that one wrapped up the story pretty well, so fans were a little surprised when it was announced that there’d be a third movie coming out. The Bellas were graduating, so what could this third movie possibly be about if not school-level a cappella competitions? The good news is we don’t have to wonder any longer, as the trailer for Pitch Perfect 3 is here, and it does a great job giving us a peek at the plot. This Christmas, Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, and all our other favourite girls are back!

I think it’ll be aca-interesting to see the girls all doing their own thing after graduating. Who’d have guessed Chloe would want to be a vet? But I’m sure the distance and time apart will make the Bellas’ reunion on stage even better. Music is where they thrive!
And what’s a Pitch Perfect movie without a musical rivalry? In this movie, it’s a female band, and I think that’ll be interesting because it may push the Bellas to use more original music like they did at the end of Pitch Perfect 2. As shown in the past movies, having a strong rival group only makes the Bellas better as they have to work together and try new things on stage, so I’m looking forward to seeing how they manage now and how they step up their game.
Obviously this is just the first trailer, so there’ll be more to see eventually, but I do hope this movie also lets us know what Jesse and Bumper and the other guys are up to as well. They were an integral part of the first two movies, so it’d be nice to get an update on them. I also hope Pitch Perfect 3 includes a riff-off. Those were always so fun to watch.
Though making a third movie is a risk, based on this trailer, it seems to be all right so far. What do you think of the first Pitch Perfect 3 trailer?
