Is Armie Hammer having problems finding movies?
He starred in box office successes including The Social Network, J. Edgar and Mirror Mirror.
Did The Lone Ranger’s bad reviews and average showing at the box office, cause the star to slow down?
Not so fast!
MTV.com reported that the Los Angeles native would collaborate Sherlock Holmes director (and former Mr. Madonna) Guy Ritchie on a big screen adaptation of 1960s television series The Man from U.N.C.L.E. that will also feature Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill.
He will also be working on a film called 2:22, which focuses on an air traffic controller who discovers that there might be aliens out there.
Despite his latest roles, the future Man from U.N.C.L.E. was almost a certain Caped Crusader as his involvement with a potential Justice League movie was unearthed by Digital Spy.
Hammer was suppose to take over Batman’s reigns from Oscar-winning actor Christian Bale, who played Gotham’s protector for all three of the Christopher Nolan-directed films, for Justice League: Mortal.
Unfortunately for Hammer, the film was shelved. Now The Social Network star has doubts, he would be putting on the Caped Crusader’s costume anytime in the near future.
“That movie was before Marvel had crushed it with everything.” said Hammer.
“It doesn’t seem like it would have been executed as well as Marvel’s done theirs. What they did is they created a following for each of the individual characters and then put them together in a movie, so you had all the people who were Thor fans, all the people who were Hulk fans, all the people who were Iron Man fans, all came together to watch this one mega movie. That was a great idea.”
