Jessica Simpson was one of the singers to come along at the time of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera with Mandy Moore as the fourth. Looking at that list, it’s easy to tell who owned the music scene but Jessica’s songs were a big part of our middle school and high school lives. Walk through her career with us as we pinpoint some highlights, it’s very hard to pick just a few.
‘Where You Are’ featuring Nick Lachey – This song is heartbreaking and so beautifully done by Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson. You can feel their chemistry burning through the screen even though it’s a song about losing the one you love. If watching this doesn’t put you back on team Nick and Jessica, nothing will.
Jessica Simpson Disney Concert – We watched this more often then we should even admit. Remember when the Disney Channel would put on concerts, well Jessica Simpson’s has to be our favorite. She was so fun during the non performing parts making us think we could be her best friend. Then when she sang, she killed it. We became her fan after this and haven’t left her side since.
‘Woman In Me’ featuring Destiny’s Child – This piece brings up our wish for Destiny’s Child to reunite as well as a new Jessica Simpson album. Just think about it, how many artists did Destiny’s Child duet with? We can’t think of many so this was a pretty huge deal and it was a badass song.
Newlyweds – We’re including this even though, as we mentioned above, the breakup of Nick and Jessica will always devastate us. This show let us see Jessica’s silly side, though we believe it was an act and she’s actually brilliant.
Her Instagram game – Like our Queen Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson knows how to choose the best posts to share on her page and we love her for it! When she announced her second pregnancy, it was epic and everything before and since has been the same. Girl knows how to do social media.
Jessica’s Clothing Line – Her shoes alone are spectacular and comfortable. She may have dropped out of the music world, but she is a business woman. If she comes back to give us new music, we hope she doesn’t let go of this because she’s so good at it.
Her Christmas Albums – Jessica knows how to sang a Christmas carol and she, not only, gave us two albums but we were also treated to a special. Do you remember the Nick and Jessica Christmas Special? Fond, fond memories to be sure.
There are so many other things we could list: her sexy period, Dukes of Hazzard, her amazing weight loss, her adorable children but we’ll leave it here. Come back to the music industry, Jessica, and gift us with a new album. We miss you.
