In a franchise that has seen Michael Keaton, George Clooney and Christian Bale wear the cape, it is now rumoured that Lord of The Rings star, Orlando Bloom, will portray the Caped Crusader in the upcoming Superman vs. Batman film. A project that was announced at the San Diego Comic-Con International in July.
Other contenders for the part are Ryan Gosling, Joe Manganiello (of True Blood) and Josh Brolin, but it looks like the 36-year-old British actor is a hot favourite to play opposite fellow Brit Henry Cavill, and following in the footsteps of Welsh man Christian Bale.
A senior source at Warner Bros. studio has said, “Orlando looks odds on to get the part even before our first casting call… he would be perfect to play off Henry.”
This Superman vs. Batman flick will mark the first time these two heroes will appear together on the big screen.
