Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought that the Winchester brothers would end up taking on The Wizard Of Oz! Imagine my surprise when I discovered this information about season nine, I nearly fell out of my chair! Clearly, the boys aren’t in Kansas anymore!
The fourth episode of season nine will be dealing with the Men Of Letters history, according to E!. The episode, which is called “Slumber Party,” “will be flashing back to the 1930’s, more specifically 1935,” said series producer Jeremy Carver.
According to Carver, “We’ll actually see the first two Men Of Letters going to, literally turning the key for the first time in 1935.” The episode will introduce a hunter named Dorothy, who is apparently from a far way and fictional land. My guess is, something big and bad is gonna get her and her little dog too.
"You’re going to see that case as something really wonderful to do with The Wizard of Oz. It’s a really fun, relatively elaborate episode that we’re really excited about!”
Carver also mentions that in this episode we’re going to learn more about Sam’s feelings about the Men Of Letters bunker. Dean has quite clearly made it his home, and even though Jared Padalecki believes that Sam sees it as a place for work, this may just be the tip of the iceberg.
Carver called the Men Of Letters storyline a “jolt of energy,” with the avenues it has opened both with the story and with the characters. This is just another bit of mythology that the show can address on season nine and maybe even into future seasons. However, the Men Of Letters does manage to give a new mirror to the infamous Winchester boys.
Season nine of Supernatural premieres Tuesday October 8th at 9pm ET on the CW!
