First Look At The Action Packed ‘Wonder Woman’ Footage

DC has released the first official footage for the upcoming Wonder Woman film, currently filming for a release in 2017.

I’m going out on a limb and say that the upcoming DC film Wonder Woman could be a triumphant powerhouse of a superhero movie – and we don’t even have an official trailer yet. During the CW primetime special entitled DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League, we received a first look at footage for the Wonder Woman standalone movie that is currently filming. During the special, it was stated that the film will take an active look at the history of Wonder Woman because her history is often overshadowed by her comrades Batman and Superman. This would certainly mean we can expect the elaborate island of Themyscira to (finally) be shown and the mass amount of amazons that exude strength in every way possible.

In the teaser footage, Wonder Woman is shown battling multiple foes, and preparing to strike with her sword while riding a horse (so she can’t fly just yet?) Even though there isn’t much to see, we learn that Diana Prince has decided to aid mankind, despite her Amazonian allies hesitations. It will be interesting to see the character’s origin story depicted in the film, and her relationships with individuals she was separated from since creation. The timeline for the first film will be over the course of World War I with the comic book love interest Steve Trevor, played by Chris Pine, and the iconic character (and mother of Diana Prince) Queen Hippolyta, played by The Following star Connie Nielsen. In addition to Gal Gadot and the other two lead characters, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, and Lucy Davis have also been confirmed to star in the Wonder Woman film. Check out the newly released teaser reel below, and prepare for a massive DC film takeover during the next few years!

Wonder Woman’s filming is currently underway, and we can expect it to arrive to theaters sometime in 2017!
