For X. ARI, music is a way to show the world that every struggle can be overcome. Her motto “Pain Into Power” can be felt through every track she releases and her empowering lyrics mixed with her alt-pop sound create a perfect blend of vulnerability and fun. She’ll drop her new EP – dedicated to her first girlfriend Anja and focused on her newfound sexuality – on July 23rd, but before that, PopWrapped are delighted to premiere the acoustic music video for her track “Stranger to Saviour.”
Stripping the song back to basics really allows X. ARI to focus on and express the powerful and meaningful lyrics. Asked about the inspiration to the video, which was shot at a DTLA loft, she says: “We kept the setting simple to match the simplicity of the stripped-down accompaniment of vocals, keys, and acoustic guitar. This song is most emotionally driven on my “Anja” EP so this version showcases the lyrics and vocals in the forefront with very little instrumental distractions to allow the listener to connect more deeply to the messages, which entail transformation, newfound love, spirituality, and inner evolution.”
She adds of the upcoming EP: “It’s been so exciting to write love songs from an authentic place of deep love and inner transformation. I always felt at home in the LGBTQ+ community and it’s no wonder I felt that way because I have always been fluid but I didn’t know it truly until I met Anja.”
