Move over, Fast & Furious, Vin Diesel's other series might be going for as many films as you're garnering to achieve! According to Collider, a xXx 4 movie with Vin Diesel is currently in the works. This will obviously be the fourth xXx movie, but only the third starring Vin Diesel in the main role of Xander Cage. xXx: State of the Union (2005), the second film, starred Ice Cube as Darius Stone in the title role; there was a nearly twelve-year gap between the last xXx film, and a fifteen-year gap between the films that starred Vin Diesel.

Vin Diesel's latest release was as Baby Groot in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) in May, and shortly before that of course was The Fate of the Furious (2017) back in April of this year, which is the eighth installment in the soon to be ten Fast & Furious films. There aren't many series that have gone on for this long, at least without rebooting something or having source material to go off of, but maybe Diesel wants to compete with that number in his other franchise, xXx.

Vin Diesel returns to xXx

After this last January's (one of the months reserved for usually not so hot movies) xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017) with Vin Diesel back in the forefront, it appears that the film was financially successful enough to garner a sequel, and one that Diesel is passionate about, or at least willing to move forward with. It didn't seem like there was a public outcry before for more xXx, but maybe there is as long as Vin Diesel is attached. Hey, if Diesel, plenty of action, and beautiful girls are all you need, then why shouldn't it make money? It goes without saying that the Fast & Furious movies are way overblown, "dumb" (in an endearing way) action movies, but this last xXx at times could make those films look like The Godfather (1972-90) in believable action stunt sequences. The xXx series is not an Oscar-worthy franchise by any means, but sometimes all you need is just a fun, over-the-top action ride, and that's what these films provide.

No details have been given yet on a plot synopsis or release date, but it would be interesting to see Ice Cube and Vin Diesel's characters team up in xXx 4.

Are you excited to see another xXx movie?
