Young Justice Season 4 Announced At SDCC

When Young Justice was confirmed to receive a third season, fans prepared themselves that this could be the end, but during the DC Universe panel at San Diego Comic Con we received confirmation that more Young Justice is on the way!

Young Justice is currently airing the second half of their third season on DC Universe and the series has earned plenty of praise for their all-important return after fans urged DC to revive the series after six years. The first half of the season introduced new key players, and saw the return of fan favorites all a little older and wiser from the last time we saw them. The first half of the season took the steps to reintroduce us to the world of Young Justice, but the second half (so far) has created more room to expand on what we know and the potential of incorporating newer characters in the capacity of a more central role.

Though the series is still at the midway point of airing the new season, during the SDCC panel for DC Universe, one of the first announcements gave us insight on the future of the series. It was confirmed that the series will surely continue on with a fourth season and with that, but was also stated that they are in the writing and early production stages for what comes after season three. It was promised that this Lex Luthor and Beast Boy battle via public eye will continue to become a central role, and that the next season will once again include the looming presence of Apokolips, but other than that we’ll have to watch for developments that occur before this season concludes.

It hasn’t been confirmed if it will keep the Young Justice: Outsiders title (very unlikely) but it was implied that these characters aren’t going anywhere just yet. The current roster includes a few veterans such as Miss Martian, Superboy, and Tigress, but also brings in Forager, Geo-Force, Halo and a personal favorite, Terra Markov. The panel additionally screened a new episode of the series which revealed cracks in the team and shed light on one of the biggest secrets about Halo to both Bryon and Tara that will heavily impact the future of all three characters.

With Young Justice being halfway through the second portion of the season, there is still plenty to come which means more Deathstroke, League of Shadows, Terra (please stick around!) and much more to look forward to before we are subjected to another hiatus. With season four now confirmed, this season can be enjoyed without fear of a second cancellation and further commit to the expansive world of one of their most beloved series. Between the great example of writing and the passionately dedicated cult-following, there is reason to believe that plenty of work on all ends helped bring this show and it’s future to fruition.

All episodes of Young Justice are currently available to stream on DC Universe with new episodes of Young Justice: Outsiders being released weekly, so make sure to catch up and celebrate another season of your favorite youthful hero hijinks!
