Wonder Woman continually proves to be exactly what the world needed. Surpassing $100 million in the box office opening weekend, the film became the highest grossing movie directed by a woman. Patty Jenkins, director, is also the first woman director to solo tackle the feet of directing a DC film. Gal Gadot, Wonder Woman herself, became the first female superhero to receive her very own movie. The milestones for women in the film industry has trickled down from the limelight of Hollywood, all the way into classrooms.
Gal Gadot recently shared a post from Patty Jenkins which included a message from a mystery writer. The message entails a list of positive affects Wonder Woman has had on younger generations just a week after being released.
My producer just sent me this… ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! This makes every hard day worth it. Thank you to whomever wrote it!!???????????? pic.twitter.com/3DzIaMueIh

The movie has generated a movement of not only female empowerment but overall self empowerment. Gadot’s twitter feed is full of her replies to fans reaching out with everything from Wonder Woman inspired makeup to action figures and love from her home country. The movie, as well as Jenkins and Gadot’s outstanding accomplishments, have been heavily covered and discussed. This helped push Wonder Woman to the most tweeted movie in 2017.
