YouTube extraordinaire/wunderkind Nick Pitera has shared with the world yet another wonderful cover via his YouTube account with us today. We could not be more stoked about it! In a tweet, Nick wrote “New YouTube video! Excited to watch @NBCSmash so I decided to cover Let Me Be Your Star @meganhilty @katharinemcphee”.
So far, the new video has garnered a few thousand hits with the promise of many more as fans catch wind of this news. If it goes viral, it would not be the first of his videos on YouTube to do so. In 2011, Pitera released “One Man Disney Movie” using a style similar to the Brady Bunch grid to perform “an eight minute plus mashup of Disney songs from all over, taking on the roles of heroes, dasmels, villains, sidekicks and choirs”.
The following year, Pitera released a medley of Andrew Lloyd Webber covers called “One Man Phanton of the Opera”. This also went viral along with a follow that same year entitled “One Man Les Miserables”.
When he is not gifting the world with his amazing vocal prowess in his videos, Nick Pitera works as an animator at Pixar Studios (be still our geeky hearts!). The Ellen DeGeneres Show has featured Pitera as a guest where he amazed the audience by singing “A Whole New World” from Disney, with himself singing both Jasmine’s and Aladdin’s parts (check out that vocal range, folks!).
Nick released his self-written original single “Better Days” on iTunes and Amazon at the end of last year (which we are wearing out, by the way), which goes to show that we can only expect bigger and better things from him in the near future. We are along for this journey with Nick Pitera and could not be more excited for him as he is sure to take off!
