The Arrow/Flash Spinoff Will Add A New DC Villain

Executive producer Greg Berlanti plans on adding another DC villain to the TV-verse on the ‘Arrow’/’Flash’ spinoff.

For those who have been keeping up with The CW’s Flash and/or Arrow, you may already know that executive producers Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Marc Guggenheim, with the addition of Sarah Schechter, will be making a spinoff series from both shows.

Featuring familiar faces like Arrow’s Ray Palmer/the Atom (Brandon Routh); Sara Lance/Black Canary (Caity Lotz); Flash’s Dr. Martin Stein/Firestorm’s half (Victor Garber), and Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), there will be an addition with at least three major DC villains who have yet to make their debut on a television series. Who the possible villains are, we aren’t certain yet. We do know, however, that the spinoff is set to “launch midseason next year” according to actor Stephen Amell, a.k.a. the Arrow.

According to Variety, Berlanti, who is also exec producing CBS’ Supergirl, explains why he chooses characters:

In picking them, it was very much about picking, ‘who are some of the most popular characters we’ve created?’ And also, tonally, who went with who? How disparate could we make it? And we’re also introducing these three new characters that we’ve casting right now… I think it’s really important that we have another female hero on the show, and this one is really exciting. I can’t wait for people to find out – we just have to cast it right, as always. And then you want that Rat Pack-y kind of vibe of all the crew hanging out, as disparate and as different as they are.

Both shows accentuate characters like Ra’s al Ghul, Deathstroke, and Reverse Flash, some of DC’s iconic villains. Berlanti plans on “making sure that the villain that we have on the show is distinct, too…another big character who hasn’t been used yet.”

Who do you think will be the rumored DC villain(s) will be, Popwrappers?

The Flash will be airing on Tuesdays at 8 p.m., and Arrow on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on the CW.
