Chrissy Recaps the Best and the Worst Looks At This Year’s CFDA

Popwrapped’s Chrissy shares her Top 5 Worst and Best looks of 2015’s CFDA Fashion Awards!

Often called “the Oscars of fashion,” the event was truly a fashionable one. The CFDA Fashion Awards recognizes some of the best in this particular industry, and with it comes celebrities with their own sense of style.

Let’s start off with the top 5 worst looks:

5. Nina Dobrev in Lela Rose

I’ll give her props for looking adorable. On the other hand, the bottom portion looks like something that belongs in my bathroom.

Do NOT wear something that resembles your carpet.

4. Tracy Reese in Tracy Reese

Reminds me of what I used to wear when I used to go to Sunday school, which is probably what you should NOT wear to a prestigious event like this.

Kim Kardashian in Proenza Schouler

3. Kim Kardashian West in Proenza Schouler and Kanye West

For this one, I’m primarily focusing on Mrs. West; Kanye doesn’t look too bad here. The thing with sheer, in my opinion, is that it’s supposed to be tasteful, meaning that you reveal much while not so much in the process. You get me? I hate this dress; not only does it have odd holes, it has weird tufts of feathers on the shoulders. What happened to your elegant Met gown you wore?!

in Sachin & Babi Noir

2. Vanessa Hudgens in Sachin & Babi Noir

I’m quite sad that she’s landed on my worst top 5 looks; she has great taste! I’ve been following her for a few years now, and this one has disappointed me. I extremely dislike her clutch because of how it stands out too much. While it’s perfectly okay to have an accessory as your stand-out piece(s), it’s a disaster if it completely stands out. Not a huge fan of her dress either; the pleats are horrid.

As for my number 1 worst look of the night, it’s a tie-breaker:

1. Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh

I don’t mind Pharrell’s look that much, but Helen’s is just…no. Her mix of prairie girl x biker chic simply does NOT work out.

Once again, I don’t mind his look that much, but did I ever tell you how much excess cut-outs bother me? It’s my fashion faux pas and one of my biggest pet peeves. The reason why it bothers me is because how it can make a stunning gown/dress etc. look so tacky and trashy. It looks like you just got a dress and cut large chunks of it off. Or you just found random pieces of material, put it together, and call it a dress.

Just no.

Please.

Out with the bad, and in with the good, so they say. But I think let’s proceed with the good in mind, shall we?

5. Cynthia Rowley in Cynthia Rowley

I LOVE how unique this is! While it’s different than the majority, it’s the good, refreshing kind. Consider me a fan.

in Diane von Furstenberg

4. Karlie Kloss in Diane von Fürstenburg

What a nostalgic dress. Not only does it remind me of a ‘Pin-up girl’ look, it transports me back in time when dresses like these were a thing (at least to me they were). It’s such a classic, sophisticated look. I simply can’t get enough of it. Bonus points for wearing Diane von Fürstenburg, a.k.a. the current president of the CFDA.

in Tadashi Shoji

3. Janelle Monae in Tadashi Shoji

Oh how I love cape dresses! The gold embellishments are beautiful. I adore how this look and her fierceness compliment each other, resulting in a seal of satisfaction from me.

It can be difficult to pick just one, so I’m picking two:

2. Victoria Beckham in Victoria Beckham

As a longtime fan of hers, you can say I’m slightly biased; the simplicity of her entire line has fascinated me to this day. I suppose one could say that it’s minimalist due to its color, but she’s done a fantastic job!

2. Erin Fetherston in Erin Fetherston

Like Victoria’s, this dress is simple in design, yet beautiful to behold – a statement piece. She’s one of the very few that allows what she wears to speak for its self, in my opinion.

Now it’s time to reveal who slayed the CFDA! However, it’s a tie between these two lovely ladies:

in Michael Kors

1. Gigi Hadid in Michael Kors

What. A. Babe.

No joke, she looks sexy in this metallic jumpsuit. Her mermaid-esque outfit plus her fresh face are a great combo. Also, that confidence is a great asset coming from the model.

1. Amanda Seyfried in Rodarte

Oh bless my poor heart. What a beautiful look! A dress like this is hard to pull off, but fortunately for her, she’s rockin’ it!
