As the temperatures rise, nothing helps beat the heat like a nice cold refreshing drink. What better way to beat the summer temperatures than enjoying a blast from the past?
After being teased about the possibility of the return of Crystal Pepsi last December, PepsiCo is officially bringing back the clear soda this summer for a limited time.
The relaunch is set to arrive on July 7th, with the release of “The Crystal Pepsi Trail” which is a nod to the classic 90s computer game “The Oregon Trail.”

These are not the only nostalgia-worthy products hitting the market, Coca-Cola has also released classic products such as Surge and Hi-C Ecto-Cooler for the 90s kids-at-heart to enjoy.
Crystal Pepsi had been originally released in 1992 in Denver, Sacramento, Dallas and Providence. The initial release was successful enough for the product to be sold throughout the United States in the following year. However, just like many of the fads of the 1990s, the trend and appeal of the clear soda unfortunately wore off quickly. Pepsi had even managed to put together a Superbowl ad in 1993 featuring the popular soda.
Before too long, Crystal Pepsi was no longer on shelves, but it did leave enough of an impact that people 20 years down the road would want it once again.
Clear soda might not have been as popular in the 90s, but currently there’s a lot of variety in the sodas people enjoy. Perhaps now the nostalgic beverages will be enough for the company to bring back the product for a long period of time.
The soda will be on sale in Canada and the United States beginning on July 11th and August 8th respectively.
