If You Have A Hangover, We’ve Got The Cure

If you’re planning on drinking a lot during the Super Bowl or Mardi Gras, we have ways to help you avoid that deadly hangover.

With the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras right around the corner, there is going to be a lot of booze being consumed at parties, home and on the streets. And people need a way to drink the night away and not feel too sick in the morning. Luckily, there are ways to get rid of deadly hangovers through good, old-fashioned hangover cures!

Cures for hangovers can come in many forms depending on how much alcohol was drunk the night before and what kind of drink it was. There is such a variety available at a bar including beer, whiskey, tropical drinks, vodka, wine, and champagne. Some ways to cure a hangover can be taking painkillers, drinking more water, eating a light breakfast, having a warm drink and just sleeping it off. According to Save The Student, “A glass of fruit juice helps by giving you a sugary kick and energy, as well as getting rid of the toxins in your body whilst replacing some of the essential minerals you’ve lost.” Juice sounds like a great idea because it is sweet and healthy.

Other cures for hangovers found on sites like Men’s Health are similar and give beneficial ways to get over that hangover feeling. They give out 11 ways on how to cure a horrible hangover. Water is of course number one along with a sports drink and  toast/crackers. There are some myths that sex, more alcohol, and exercise can cure a hangover, but studies show these tactics don’t actually work.

Since Mardi Gras is a huge celebration in New Orleans, locals have written articles in their newspapers about the cure for a hangover and how not to get one. Nola gives a great set of rules for the day of,  the night of drinking, and the morning after. Through early preparation like hydration, eating a good meal and taking three, 400mg doses of vitamin B-6 while you’re out, you can minimize your chances of feeling too miserable the next day.

So with a few helpful tips and tricks, the days after the big game and Mardi Gras can be a piece of (King) cake! Just remember to party responsibly and always designate a driver!
