After a number of roadblocks, we now have a release date for Mad Max: Fury Road. The latest film in the franchise is due for release the summer of 2015.
Tom Hardy steps into the role made famous by Mel Gibson in the reboot 30 years after the last film, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. Starring alongside Hardy in the 3D feature is Nicholas Hoult and Charlize Theron. George Miller returns as director.
Little is known about the plot of the film. What Miller has revealed is that “Mad Max is caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by the Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron). This movie is an account of the Road War which follows. It is based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and eyewitness accounts of those who survived.”
The Warner Bros/Village Roadshow film will be in cinemas May 15, 2015.
