Maggie Szabo dances one last time with a cheating lover in the emotional music video for her new single “Forgive and Forget…”
Rising soul-pop songstress Maggie Szabo is making moves with her current single “Forgive and Forget.” The big voiced musician has come a long way from her earliest days growing up in Dundas, a small yet artistic Canadian town. Szabo moved from Canada to Nashville, Tennessee upon graduating from high school with the intent of pursuing a career in music. Her commitment and talent as a vocalist and wordsmith led to a record deal and an album release in 2012; however, things changed yet again when Szabo made the move to Los Angeles.
Earlier this year Maggie Szabo bared her heart with a fragile performance on her lovelorn anthem “Forgive and Forget.” The piano-led track sees the songstress at a crossroads with a cheating lover, unable to decide how to move forward. Szabo can either forgive her lover and stay with him or move on and forget him; yet neither option seems possible in her shattered state of mind.
The emotional track has now come to life in the form of an official music video, which showcases the siren’s unravelling relationship with Vampire Diaries actor Chris Brochu. In the visual Szabo reflects upon the highs and lows of her relationship with her lover. Sweet memories of evenings spent together are contrasted by the moment that Szabo realized her lover’s infidelity, and they clearly make it complicated for her to move forward. A lovelorn Szabo appears in a closet and alone in dim lighting, evidently struggling with the decisions in front of her…
Intercut between the couple’s demise are scenes of the twosome dancing in an abandoned warehouse. Dressed in all white, the duo execute gorgeous choreography and are entangled in what very well me be their last dance. With this in mind the performance is all the more emotionally charged, and the passion they display all the more meaningful. It these are their last moment’s together, Maggie Szabo made them count.

Szabo’s “Forgive and Forget” visual is fraught with emotion, and it perfectly reflects upon the heartbreak and confusion displayed in her vocal performance. It is a powerful performance from both Szabo and Brochu, and it showcases Maggie’s evocative skills. You cannot help but feel for the broken down siren, and all you can hope is that she finds peace in her eventual decision.
