Pop music icon Kylie Minogue has broken off her engagement with actor, Joshua Sasse. The couple first met on the set of Sasse’s musical fantasy television series Galavant, in which he plays the title character. Minogue had a guest appearance in 2015, and, a year later in February 2016, the couple announced their engagement.
Kylie confirmed the split with an Instagram post and captioned it with, “Thank you for all your love and support throughout this recent chapter of my life. Thank you now for your love and understanding with the news that Josh and I have decided to go our separate ways. We wish only the best for each other as we venture towards new horizons.”
Kylie Minogue is said to be planning to return her diamond engagement ring to Sasse because she just wants to “move on with her life”.
Friends close to the pop star says that she felt “completely betrayed.”
Although not confirmed yet, there are claims that she had separated from the actor after he had become close to Spanish actress Marta Milans.
“She started to suspect Joshua over the festive period and they had been arguing since November,” an anonymous source told The Mirror. “He was in London and so was Marta. There was a worry that they had met up and he wasn’t being truthful to her,” the source added.
But Marta is said to be saddened by the accusation. “Marta wouldn’t want to get caught up in something like this, she is very upset by the whole thing,” a friend also told The Mirror, refuting the allegation.
Sasse had met Marta while they were both working on the show No Tomorrow in Vancouver. A source on the set said that it was “well known” that the two were close, but Marta’s brother Alfonso said that he had “no idea at all” of a burgeoning relationship. Regardless of what happened, we hope that these two can each move on to better things.
