Imagine Darryl from The Walking Dead and the cast of Duck Dynasty sitting around a table full of food on Thanksgiving Day. It may sound like the premise of a wacky spin-off, but believe it or not this unprecedented event became real last year as Norman Reedus celebrated Thanksgiving with the Robertson family in Louisiana.

“I was surprised to get the invite,” Reedus states, “But they like our show, and I guess we’re both on popular shows, so it makes sense.”

This gathering occurred well before Phil Robertson’s anti-gay comments, which probably saved Reedus from potentially being sucked in to the fiasco in some way.

The actor describes the family as “A bunch of weird dudes. Come to think of it, they seemed pretty sophisticated to me.” But he wasn’t one too feel out of place in a family of hunters as he’s played a killer in 39 out of the 42 films and television series he’s been in.

“I was born to play the bad guy, I guess. I have a suspicious look to me,” he says.

Nobody is complaining, Norman. Nobody is complaing.
