While Liam Gallagher of Beady Eye (and formerly of Oasis) may not like boy band One Direction, he is aware of them enough to know that they are a rival for him.
“Who’s my biggest competition? One Direction,” Gallagher told BBC News. “I’m not into their music.”
While the singer isn’t a fan, he did say that he admires them for “just going for it.”
“Fair play to them, man, they got lucky – like we all do, I guess – and they’re just going for it. That’s what it’s all about, innit?” he continued. “It’s all going to end at some point. And when it ends, you want to make sure you’ve ticked all the boxes.”
The artist also announced that his band will promote their new album on The X Factor later this year. Their new album – which features current single ‘Second Bite of the Apple’ – will be released on June 10th in the UK and a little later in the US.
