Renowned personal manager Irving Azoff and music exec Randy Grimmett have been hard at work since their coming together to form Global Music Management earlier this year. They’ve been snatching renowned songwriters left and time to beef up their core market, and the latest big name to join them is none other than chart-topper Pharrell Williams.
Pharrell, who is most currently known for his megahit “Happy” from off of the Despicable Me 2 album, is speculated to have turned in his termination notice to current rights organization ASCAP. He will officially be picked up by GMM on October 1, 2014 and will be joining fellow singer-songwriter and OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder at the new PRO.
Global Music Management claims to be the “21st century” option for all music rights management services. Their official website description states, “Global Music Rights is uniquely positioned to license, survey and distribute public performance royalties.”
As always, look for more news surrounding these events as we near closer to GMM’s grand opening.
