Exciting news for comedy fans – comedy group The Lonely Island, most famous for their years on Saturday Night Live, are set to direct and star in their own film for Universal which will be produced by comedy kingpin Judd Apatow.
During their time on Saturday Night Live, Andy Samberg was a castmember, and Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer were writers. They made their mark on the show with over one hundred Digital Shorts, creating some of the most iconic moments in the long-running sketch show’s history.
Taccone and Schaffer will direct the film, and presumably all three will star in it.
