16 Fans Dead At One Of 4Minute’s Concert

During one of 4Minute’s latest concerts, fans caused an air vent to collapse, leading into a disaster with 16 people ending up dead.

4Minute is a well-known K-pop girlband with massive success in their market. One of their latest concerts did not turn out as expected, with a vent collapsing  that caused 16 fans in the audience to loose their lives.

Everything seemed to be working out just fine at the Pangyo Techno Valley in Seongnam, South Korea. The girlband took the stage at the outdoor stadium to entertain their 700 fans, but then it turned into a disaster. In order to have a better view of 4Minute on the stage, a number of fans – estimated 20 to 30 – started climbing on an air vent. Since they were reluctant to listen to the concert organizers’ orders and climb down the vent, their weight made it collapse and a disaster was caused.

An eye-witness at the 4Minute concert claimed that the incident seemed as if people were being “sucked down into a hole”. According to a fire official’s statements, 12 people died at the scene, 2 failed to make it to the hospital and the rest passed away during medical treatment.

It’s not the first time that kind of tragedy takes place in Korea, with the Sewol ferry sinking almost half a year ago and resulting in the death of over 300 people.
