The buzz in Hollywood the morning of the Oscar nominations announcement is electric, but some movies, such as Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, Fifty Shades of Grey and Jupiter Ascending, are being talked about for another reason. These movies were all nominated for a Razzie award.
The “winners” of this award, which calls out the worst of Hollywood each year, will be announced the day before the Academy Awards. Like the Oscars, the Razzies have similar categories including Worst Picture, Worst Actor, Worst Director, Worst Remake and more.
Some of the same actors who received Oscar nominations this morning, such as Eddie Redmayne, Johnny Depp and Rooney Mara also received a Razzie nomination. There is also a fan-voted award, the Razzie Redeemer Award, which puts previous Razzie winners head to head to decide who has best redeemed themselves following their win.
