ABC’s Once Upon A Time spinoff has just made a new addition to its cast, and this one is of the speaking variety. Once Upon a Time in Wonderland creators have enlisted the services of comedian Paul Reubens – best known for his portrayal of the quirky Pee-Wee Herman – to star in the spinoff, already comprised of Sophie Lowe (Roadkill), Michael Socha (Being Human), Peter Gadiot (Night Wolf), and Emma Rigby (Hollyoaks).
The news of the casting comes from EW, who recently confirmed Herman will be joining Wonderland as the voice of the White Rabbit. The spinoff is set to take place in the same timeline as Once Upon a Time and will provide viewers with flashbacks much like the original series. Wonderland is currently in pre-production but is schedule to begin filming in Vancouver pretty soon.
Voicing a character should be absolutely no challenge for the talented and experienced Reubens, who has previously lent his voice to a plethora of animated series and films, including 2011’s The Smurfs.
