When you stumble upon a web page with the instantly recognizable Twitter blue bird, #music, and a Sign In button that doesn’t appear to function (yet), then you start to ask questions. What could the minds over at Twitter be up to?

It looks like they could be launching their long rumored music discovery service soon. And these whispers grew louder this week after Ryan Seacrest spilled the beans about getting a sneak preview of the app on American Idol this week. Nice going Mr. Seacrest!

So what would a Twitter music discovery service consist of? The service would recommend you music/songs that it thinks you would enjoy based on the people you already follow. Then the service would link you to a site you could listen to it, including SoundCloud and Rdio.

The technology for the service will must likely be based on the music discovery software, ‘We Are Hunted’, which Twitter already acquired last year.

A date for any big Twitter announcements has yet to be announced but keep checking PopWrapped for updates!
