After rumors surrounded many of Hollywood’s hottest actors (Tom Hiddleston and Alexander Skarsgard to name a few) Luke Evans (The Hobbit) has been cast as the lead role in the remake of The Crow – which originally came out in 1994.

According to Deadline, Bryan was the first choice to take over the role originally held by Bradley Cooper, but was unable to due to scheduling conflict.

Relativity Media decided to change the beginning of shooting to next year in order to accommodate Evans’ busy schedule.

Evans is set to appear in two huge films this year with The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug hitting theatres in December and Fast & Furious 6 at the end of May, and has recently been cast in Dracula: Year Zero.

Are you excited about Luke Evans getting the lead or would you have preferred one of the other rumored actors?
