Recent casting rumors suggest that Armie Hammer might take on the role of Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey. The dapper Ian Somerhalder and Matt Bomer have also been involved in the rumor mill for the anticipated film.
Hammer recently addressed the speculation in an interview with Playboy. He confirmed that while he was not offered the role, his agent did mention it when he was filming Lone Ranger. Hammer’s answer was a resounding no. He said of Fifty Shades, “It’s just mommy porn. I’m not going to sit on top of the laundry machine in spin cycle reading about putting a ball gag in someone’s mouth. That doesn’t do it for me.”
Harsh! But of course, you can tell us how you really feel, Armie.
Fans can rest easy however, knowing that Hammer will not be exploited in the film. Although, it will be interesting to learn who will be cast in the film once the news is leaked.
Hammer is not the first to bluntly deny Fifty Shades casting rumours—Emma Watson turned to Twitter not too long ago to bluntly assure fans she would never dream of partaking in the racy film.
