Lead actress of the hit Hunger Games franchise Jennifer Lawrence has spoken about reprising her role as Mystique in the new X-Men film.
Entitled X-Men: Days of Future Past, the Oscar-winning actress told SciFiNow about her character’s costume and the journey she goes on in the sequel.
Set 10-years on from X-Men: First Class, Lawrence said her costume is ‘a little different’ to the first film. Rather than being covered in blue body paint, she’ll be wearing a body suit, with a darker blue painted over.
Lawrence quite openly says, “I’m naked…when I do get to wear clothes, I love the 70s outfits.”
Playing a mutant in the film, J-Law, the woman of the moment said, “she’s different in this film too. She was struggling – like a lot of normal humans – with the way she looked, and she was covered up a lot in the first movie, but this time she is Mutant and proud.”
X-Men: Days of Future Past is adapted from the 1980’s Marvel comic book story arc written by Chris Claremont. In addition to the returning cast from the first film First Class, stars from the original franchise including Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ian McKellen, Patrick Wilson andHugh Jackman will also be returning, to unite both X-Men casts in the new film!
X-Men: Days of Future Past is slated for release May 22nd in the UK and May 23rd 2014 in US – three years after the first film was released.
