Body positivity has been huge these past few years and more and more women have spoken out about how important it is. The latest leading lady is Melissa McCarthy. McCarthy recently started her own line of plus sized women’s clothes, which are fabulous!
Here’s what McCarthy had to say about loving your body: “There’s an epidemic in our country of girls and women feeling bad about themselves based on what .5 percent of the human race looks like. It starts very young. My message is that as long as everybody’s healthy, enjoy and embrace whatever body type you have.” She stresses this importance to her two daughters who she is hopeful will never be body shamed.
The comedian has a huge year ahead of her with the release of The Boss on April 7th of this year and the Ghostbusters revival. That will be out July 14th! McCarthy is a very busy lady already, but she cares enough about women that she devoted time to making clothes. McCarthy said, of her clothing line; “When I feel good about my clothes, I’m more patient with my kids. I don’t beep at the guy in his car texting in front of me.” Honestly, we could all use that kind of happy attitude. Maybe she should make clothing for everyone so that men can be less grumpy and kids might listen better.
We love Melissa McCarthy in all her roles and her clothing line is to die for. Honestly, we’re still having a hard time coming to terms wtth the fact that she won’t be in the Gilmore Girls reboot. We’re still totally gonna watch it but we’ll miss Sookie. However, she’s given us two great movies to enjoy her in this year, and we can’t wait!
