Irish actor Chris O’Dowd is playing Sean Murphy in Sky One’s television series, Moone Boy. As recently reported, the Irish show is going to take over the United States soon, since ABC has ordered a put-pilot for a stateside adaptation.

ABC is really into getting the show on air, as the network has already committed to picking up the pilot once it’s filmed. Moone Boy‘s will be especially adapted for the U.S. audiences, with script and production delivered by O’Dowd himself. Despite his involvement, the actor will not star in the American version of the show as well.

The United Kingdom and Ireland have already received two series of episodes of Moone Boy, which have also been broadcast in the United States by PBS and are available on Hulu. A third series is on the way for 2015.
